WETTING YOUR APPETITE IN A DRY YEAR
"Wetting Your Appetite in a Dry Year" is a farm management conference for
prairie farmers dealing with the realities of farming in drought conditions.
The conference will be held March 5 and 6, 2002 at the University of
Saskatchewan's Bruno Ursuline Campus.
Experts from the universities of Saskatchewan, Regina, and Manitoba,
Saskatchewan Agriculture and Food, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, the
Canadian Wheat Board, Environment Canada, the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool, and
the Saskatchewan Soil Conservation Association will outline the current
situation and the outlook for the coming year. They will explore options on
how to meet the challenges of farming under drought conditions, and look at
new crop opportunities. Low input agriculture, GMO and organic crops, grain
handling, and farm policy are among the topics to be covered during the
packed two-day program.
The conference is sponsored by the University of Saskatchewan Extension
Division and College of Agriculture; Saskatchewan Agriculture & Food,
Extension Services Branch; and the Carlton Trail Agricultural Society.
The registration fee is only $10 per day and includes meals. The Bruno
