College of Engineering Unveils
Alumni Wall of Distinction

Today, University of Saskatchewan Chancellor Peggy McKercher and President
Peter MacKinnon officially unveiled the College of Engineering Alumni Wall
of Distinction.

Over 100 alumni, students and representatives from the University colleges
attended the ceremony.

The Alumni Wall of Distinction honours the lifetime career achievements of
distinguished alumni by establishing an award of recognition and prestige.
The wall serves to remind current students of the accomplishments that they
too can achieve. The inducted members of the wall will also serve as role
models for today?s young scholars.

Alumni appearing on the wall were chosen by the Chancellor, the President,
the Dean and Associate Dean of the College of Engineering after names were
suggested by both faculty and alumni. Additions to the wall will be made
annually.

This year, alumni chosen were former C. J. Mackenzie Distinguished Memorial
Lecturers. The lecture series was named in memory of the University?s first
Dean of the College of Engineering and established to recognize alumni who
achieved positions of eminence in the profession. The Wall of Distinction
will honour the contributions of these and other eminent graduates of the
College of Engineering.

"The Alumni Wall of Distinction in Engineering is an excellent way for the
University community to recognize and celebrate the achievements of some of
our finest scholarly graduates, " said President MacKinnon.
