University of Saskatchewan history
captured in photo album
The University of Saskatchewan invites the general public
and members of the news media to attend a book
launching ceremony for The University of Saskatchewan: A
Photo Album. The celebration will take place on Wednesday,
February 25, 1998 at 3:00 p.m. in the University Bookstore
(Marquis Hall).
Co-authors Betty Jantz and Louise Barak have captured the
memories of the University of Saskatchewan in The
University of Saskatchewan: A Photo Album, which features
approximately 200 photographs depicting all aspects of
University life throughout the past 90 years. Jantz and
Barak are both graduates of the University, and current
employees. Jantz works at the University Bookstore while
Barak maintains the visual resource centre for the
Department of Art and Art History.
It is fitting that this book has been published during the
University?s 90th anniversary, says Bookstore Manager
Larry Wong. The University of Saskatchewan has a long and
colourful history of providing excellence in teaching,
research and community service for the people of the
province. This book beautifully documents that history.
